Browser Crisis

I've used Breezebrowser for years but my laptop is a Mac and won't run it. I have never sat down with the Mac and really got to grips with it and have been considering a top end pc laptop. After a weekend of grappling I've decided that it's the software that is the problem and that the operator needs to re-train.
Any suggestions about a browser?   It looks like Picassa is leading the field to run on both.
