Under the Tuscan sun

thanks to all of you for the kind words yesterday.
I can inform you that the second trip was fine, without delay. It took some time to get our luggage and the rental car (and finding our agriturismo B&B), and we were heavily overdressed for the warmth...but we love it.
Yesterday the rest of the day was spend in Pontedera, doing some shopping and a nice meal. And watching the female house cat and her three kittens (I´m in love....:-).
Today we went first to Pisa, and wow, is that tower leaning. When coming in contact with sights you have seen so many times on pictures, one is often disappointed that the real life deal is less spectacular. But not so with the Piazza di Miracoli. I loved the cathedral, with all the fabulous details (see extra number one), but I was annoyed but those hordes of tourists, posing all in the same manner (holding the tower - see extra number two).
When sick of all the people, we went to Lucca which was such a lovely place - I really loved it! The city centre is full of those tiny alleys, and charming little shops (my mum has a whole new wardrobe including shoes and handbag), and lots of lots of gorgeous architecture.
The plan was to go to Florence tomorrow, but I didn´t get tickets for the Uffizi before Saturday, so we will go then.
Which means we have the whole day tomorrow....any suggestions?
