#savethesurprise

I was lucky enough to attend the first technical rehearsal for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.

Danny Boyle asked everyone to #savethesurprise and the vast majority did.

Although it was a rehearsal and we didn't see a number of the surprises it was a phenomenal experience. The transition from the pastoral scene to the Industrial Revolution was astounding with 1000 drummers around the stadium creating the most amazing accompaniment as the scene unfolded and then filling the arena as the Olympic Rings were forged.

It was marvellous to be part of the Olympic experience and the closest I would come to actually being there on the night.
