Lovely Lizzie

Second cousin Lizzie and I enjoyed a sleep in before deciding where we'd go today. A few hours on the Port Hills won over a trip inland to Porters Pass.

We took the valley track to the Summit Rd and made our way up to the Mt Vernon Farm track. On our way down we stopped and ate our picnic lunch overlooking the city and Canterbury Plains.

My foot is happy as, maybe a little weak but nothing a few exercises won't improve. My jaw ached a bit but it wasn't too cold. The smile says it all for Lizzie. Her knee behaved and she learned a bit about how it ticks. Next time she'll know her limits can be extended further.

The little pope Benedict enjoyed having a new admirer, especially one who played with him and shook the treat tin. He's tuckered out asleep on the sofa.

Lizzie is back in her flat preparing for the start of her last semester on engineering school tomorrow. And hpx is preparing for what will be a busy week at work.
