Monday 8 December 2008: Moving on up
I think Bella and I just had our first proper conversation.
We've been easing her into nursery over the last few weeks (or 'lit-lit school' as she calls it), in time for her starting one day a week in the new year. She loves being there with her mum, but hasn't quite got her head around the being stranded bit yet.
She's going again tomorrow, so I decided to raise the subject when I put her to bed this evening. We spent ages talking about it all - the things she can do there, the fish, the garden, the lego, the books and the lady who looks after her. Finally she told me that mummy goes to the shop, but then she comes back.
It was amazing because nothing we talked about was there in front of us - it was all abstract and being described through speech.
I think she'll be fine with nursery, but it's perhaps time to stop thinking of my little baby as a little baby.
