Towards Machrihanish

21.6C cloudy, warm, and humid. Some bright spells. Zephyr (WNW).

Apothecary7's day off.

This morning we went to Westport beach and had a long walk along the sand towards Machrihanish. Lots of waves today. Maeve the Deerhound wasn't for paddling. There was one man in the water with a surf board. He seemed to wait a lot for waves to break past him rather than paddle out and ride the waves into shore. He had a go on some waves and was up on the board for a few seconds at a time. There was lots of spray drifting inshore like mist. We met a few other people on the beach. At times they either disappeared into the mist as they walked away, or appeared from the mist as if from nowhere.

I have been experimenting with a setting on the E-PL5 for the last three days. I have concluded that it suits some subjects and not others. Today's subjects belonged in the not others category. oops !

We went to Glenbarr for lunch. Apothecary7 put her name on the list for "Art in the Hothouse" for the 26th.

On the way home we stopped at the farm stall at Bellochantuy for eggs (for later in the week), and on the spur of the moment bought a lemon drizzle cake.

Later in the afternoon we left Maeve at home and went out to buy a cheap watering can and some weedkiller. The courtyard between the house and the garden has since been thoroughly treated.
