Vama Veche

Vama Veche is a small festival in Bruges with all kinds of bands ,from world music to hip hop and so on. Just went to sit for a while and enjoyed the variety of people and sounds. The pic i took is from a fellow who's residing here some years . Now and then you can spot Him in local cafés with a special act. He will sit with a glas of bear standing on his head and just watching everybody. He's experiencing a lot of loneliness and sadness i think. Mostly that happens with fugetives from African countries. On the board above him is written ' drop your garbage here' . Mostly asylum seekers feel threatend like dirt and have low self esteem. Vama Veche means ' old customs ' and is a village in Romania , near the Black Sea.
