Seagull Fury

The seagulls get in a right flap at the moment, starting up an orchestra of sound from about 5.00am. During the day they burst into life, in the manner of barking dogs, excited, then quiet again. The situation isn't helped by the two chicks successfully bred on our roof, which has caused jealousy to others who have had their nests predated. This probably means we have been accepted, despite our northern pedigree. All hell breaks lose when a buzzard flies over, and reinforcements come from everywhere to mob it. It is usually driven off, not scared, probably just fed up of the racket like us. It seems to me a seagull would make a scarier opponent than an eagle.
