Thursday 2 August 2012: Broom Wagon
Path from Wester Broomhouse to The Pleasance, near Dunbar, East Lothian. A quick ride before another night-shift. Great to be out.
Big Ride.
This is the Surly with Pugsley forks, with the huge Larry tyre removed and a 29er wheel popped in. Makes the bike totally different and a nice snappy ride. 2 bikes in 1 - perfect!
I've been reading David Millar's "Racing Through the Dark: The Fall and Rise of David Millar" which is a great tale of excess in every sense. He's either 100% on-form, or 100% off, even ending up in the "Voiture Balai" - the "Broom Wagon" which picks up "the weak and sick who can no longer ride their bikes to the finish." To see him winning another Tour stage - clean - this year was great.
