Coral Beach

What a bonus today! We were prepared for a quiet day after consulting the seaweed last night but we woke to beautiful clear blue sky and Helen suggested we find a beach. I knew of the Coral Beach from last holiday so we packed up sandals, sunglasses and books and headed there, idyllic! For an hour or so we had the place to ourselves apart from a young man scouring for shells. We waded across to the small islets, explored the coves and inlets, then found a grand sunbathing rock.

Not ones to lie around for long we went for a cuppa and cake at Beth's Cafe in Balmacara Square then drove over to Skye in search of whiskey for Jim. At the Isle of Ornsay Helen did the tasting and Verity the buying then we idled on a different shore for some time, enjoying watching a couple packing their sea kayaks for a three day adventure around the islands. I didn't know you could fit so much stuff in a kayak and I do hope the weather holds for them.

Sadly now it is time to pack in readiness for saying goodbye to Station Cottage in the morning. We have had a wonderful week!
