Wednesday 1 August 2012: Nelson and Ricky
N won a competition on facebook for tickets to an exclusive and intimate gig by the Kaiser Chiefs in London tonight.
Very exciting! We never win anything!
We left home with plenty of time to spare so we could pop by Trafalgar Square on the way and see Nelson wearing his patriotic and Olympic hat (part of the London 2012 Festival's hatwalk.)
We had to find a discreet door on Shaftesbury Avenue to lead us into Century, a private club. It was a tiny tiny venue - the stage took up nearly half the room! There were free cocktails and canapés.
The biggest surprise was being lead into an adjoining room to meet the band before the gig - cool! Official photos were taken to go on fb for us to tag ourselves at some point in the future.
The gig itself was brilliant - only 6 songs - with such a small audience of around 50 people. Loved it!
And to top it all we were given signed CD's of their greatest hits on the way out the door. Going to send one to N's brother and nephews who are BIG fans.
