The magical landscape of Lón

We have had the strangest weather, even measured by Icelandic standards, where they say ´ If you don´t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes...´ One minute it was pouring with rain, and the next one the sun would be blazing down on us. We decided to explore the area to the north of where we were staying. I have never been there, but M went there 30 years ago and thought it was beautiful. We did not go far, one had to cross some rivers and we did not want to subject our new car to it (plus I am a scaredy cat!). We liked what we saw though, and want to go back some time.
