The Bridge

I was looking for some quotes about bridges to go with this picture I took from Cambridge railway station. It turns out people talk a lot about bridges. You can burn them, build them, let water pass underneath them. They are very symbolic structures.

One of my favourites is probably this one from Winnie the Poo:
"Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.?

And this one from Emily Dickinson:
"Faith is the pierless bridge supporting what we see unto the scene that we do not."

Kinda contradicting but both of them true in their own right.
