Record of my day rather than anything photographically interesting ...

We all trooped out to our hosting company today for a tour of the facility and discussion about how things are. We had a major issue this week when we discovered that their fancy new IBM SAN (pictured), wasn't backing up a number of mission critical databases. Actually, that's not quite fair, their $200 000 machine was working, just a script wasn't. Still, it was potentially a mission critical failure.

Lots of other scintillating discussion about SQL backups. I bet you are excited ;-)

Actually, it was pretty cool being in the server room amongst probably a million dollars worth (or more) of machines, all whirring away delivering websites around the world. Yep, fun stuff for a pseudo geek.

And they gave us beer and pies ;-)
