Over the sea...

After a wet mooch round Ullapool we headed inland to where the clouds were slightly thinner. And south to Dornie, where our unexpected host pointed out this glorious piece of romanticism, visible across a loch from our bedroom window. It’s a 20th century ‘restoration’ (without any original drawings or plans) of a 13th century castle that was destroyed in 1719 and is predictably in demand as a film, TV and wedding location. We enjoyed what the clouds were doing to the light for quite a while then crossed the Skye bridge for more of the same. Hard to believe it’s 20 years since those toll protests.
