Saturday 4 August 2012: dunstaffnage

We took a walk from Ganavan Sands along the coastal path to Dunstaffnage Castle. 20C and hardly a breath of wind made it a slightly harder walk than it should have been.

Had a standoff with some cows at one point. I think they won. Also nearly walked into one as it came round a corner. First time I've seen a cow with a startled expression.

The ticks were unbelievable. The little blighters were everywhere. Found a couple on my trousers and another one in a slightly more worrying place but I got it before it had a chance to get comfortable. Yeuch.

This is a view of the marina near the castle with Ben Cruachan the tallest of the peaks in the background.
