Nigardsbreen

We had stayed high on the Sognefjellet Pass, and descended to the glen in the morning, We made our way round to Josterdalsbreen National Park, and up to the Nigardsbreen visitor centre, where we left the van and cycled up to the parking. We then walked up to the glacier front in improving weather. There is an amazing amount of bare rock and the river coming out from the snout of the glacier is very powerful. We spent about an hour exploring the area below the glacier and then had an untroubled cycle back as motor homes attempted to extricate themselves from a too narrow passing place. The blip is actually taken from the visitor centre, looking up to Nigardsbreen. (Bre is the Norwegian for glacier and Breen is the plural).
