It's a Beautiful Life

The Last Supper at Notre Dame des Neiges

We could see L'Eglise Notre Dame des Neiges from our bedroom window in the chalet at Alpe d'Huez. We had a look around on our first day. It was built to replace the original wooden church at the end of the 1960s and is famous for its original architecture in the form of tent, a monumental organ in the form of an open hand and its 13 stained glass windows (illustrating scenes from the Gospel according to Saint Mark) painted by the artist Arcabas. The latter are amazingly vibrant. Beautiful!

More information about the church and a picture of the organ can be found here for those interested.
