No comparison

As I was doing my morning watering rounds I spotted this mantis on a wild lemon tree. I think it's doing something odd with its wings. Possibly shedding an old skin including wing cases if indeed mantises have those and that is what they do. Anyway, I dashed off to get both cameras and began, as I usually do, with the Canon. The clicking of the shutter alerted the insect to my presence and it rocked its way behind foliage to avoid me. I did get the Sony out and took shots from a new viewpoint, but the beast was not posed nearly as sweetly as it was in the Canon shot.
