Lyme Regis - The Cobb

Have finally made it back to the land where the internet exists.  Nearly a week with intermittent snails pace internet. When I say intermittent, I mean on for about an hour a day. Never the same hour either. Mobile phone coverage gave at best GPRS data. The internet doesn't seem to have arrived in all its glory in East Devon.

So, heres the first of a couple of backblips.

On Wednesday we went to Lyme Regis, having steered clear of it throughout the busy bank holiday weekend. There's always a great photo to be had here. I hope this passes muster.

A view from the sea front across towards the harbour and the Cobb.

And, the day produced the funniest moment of the whole week.
Anyone who knows Lyme Regis will also know the absolutely fabulous fishmongers just a few paces from the harbour. Its little more than a corridor in width, but always busy and always selling a great range of fish. Always a must place to visit. This time we went in and bought some hake, prawns and a crab. However, not having the right change we left our purchases and went of for some lunch in a local pub to break a note (or two).
On the way to the pub there is a little place selling pizza, some of which was on a table out front. We commented on the way past that it was beyond temptation for some small child walking past.
Anyway, after lunch, we returned to pay for the fish and there was a gaggle of people coming the opposite way. In a flash, one of the pizzas was grabbed, not by a child, but by an enormous dog. Unlike a child that would no doubt be wondering what to do with a 10" pizza, the dog had no problems at all. It was so predictable that we couldn't work out who was to blame. Can't blame the dog is the only conclusion we could come to while we and many other passers by were in fits of laughter.

The fish, crab and prawns were all delicious.
