Barely There

We had ourselves a little holiday today. It was time to take the van out for a spin to see if everything was still working well enough for an upcoming camping trip, so we drove up the coast a few miles, stopping first for a fried oyster po'boy in sandwich heaven. Then on to buy some fat strawberries at a local farm, a stop to watch the windsurfers battle the elements, and then a pleasant stroll up a dirt road that smelled like summer--warm and dusty and full of pine needles and spice.

Everything in the car works fine, and I feel as if we'd taken a week's vacation. We only went about twenty miles.
