Wednesday 8 August 2012: Pride of place
Well, all the effort was worth it.
My garlic got Third place in the any other vegetable class at the show.
Ru entered one of his extremely dangerous cacti on a whim at the last minute and also got a Third prize in the cactus and succulent category.
My friend K did really well with a Third for muffins, a Second for a cushion and a First for her fabric shopping bag.
The hall was stuffed to the gunnels with all sorts of wonderful baking, crafts, flowers and vegetables. My favourites were the 'vegetable animal' classes (for various ages). Loads of fun and some very creative results. This lot were the creations of the 5, 6 and 7 year olds. Clever bunch aren't they!
To top the day off, I won a raffle prize.... a garden bench.
