To everything a season

Street trees by the cathedral.

That stalwart trunk has already been stripped of its limbs, and soon the axe will be laid to the roots.

The tiny bright tree in the foreground has just been planted to replace another tree that had to be removed. The city is trying to keep Dutch Elm disease from spreading, and many old specimens on the church blocks are gone.

Extra: In color.
I'm committed to a month of mono, so is this cheating?
