When the going gets weird

The Peckham Rye Totem Pole

More flat viewing today. The first one was supposed to be in Newcross. The letting agency seemed to have a much more elastic concept of space than we did though. It wasn't Newcross at all. It was closer to the Millwall ground.

The letting agent immediately put my back up (pointy brown shoes, never trust a man in pointy brown shoes) by asking us to wait while he showed another couple around the property. The property was on an estate obviously designed for cheap family homes and some Scum bag landlord was instead trying to cram it full of students to maximise the return. You could see residents on the estate giving us side eye. Rightly so to be fair.

We decided to to take a bit power back and headed off rather than wait for the slimy git to show us around what doubtless would be another unpleasant box with white pleather furniture. We had another one booked for one anyway.

The second one was up in Peckham Rye/Dulwich. It was quite unusual, but me and Riot could see definite potential in that one. The area was much quieter than the other ones we'd been to see and a bit farther out. But it was still reasonably walkable to the more jumping Peckham down the road.

In the evening Riot's former roller derby team mate Bex came to visit. We took her down to the Bird's Nest and she gave us the benefit of her London-suss (as she's been here a couple of years now).
