Val Veni

Thank you for all the kind and supportive comments left on yesterday's blip. I've said before & will say again, there are a lot of very good people in the world and many of them can be found on Blip. I found my day pushing myself in the high mountains as therapeutic as I hoped, and woke afresh, feeling blessed.

Today we walk through the Val Veni, surely a contender for most beautiful valley in the Alps. The lakes of Combal worked their reflective magic for today's blip, and the clients were suitably awed by the scenery - the Glacier du Miage dominates early on, but as we move along the valley a glance over our shoulders shows the majesty of these mountains, the Aguille Noire de Peuterey looming large and giving a sense of towering scale to the wall of rock that forms the Southern edge of the Massif.
It's a long day to chaotic Chapieux, but this year there is a new path that avoids the last foot stomping yomp along the road, so a trudge becomes a joy and we even found time to plunge aching feet into the glacial stream - bliss.
