The Magnificent Oak

We walked past this impressive tree on Monday and were impressed by its girth, calculating a likely age of many hundreds of years, by comparing it with the trees in Bradgate Park, near my home village. 

Thereafter, each time we passed to and from our cottage we would address it as our magnificent oak.
