Thursday 9 August 2012: Mama's Funny!
Here we are! How I've missed this little smile . . . and how I've missed all of you, too.
First of all, THANK YOU a million times over for your kind words of support as I prepared for the radio-active iodine treatment. Your comments on my 31st of July blip gave me strength and encouragement as I read them on August 1st. Thank you so very, very much. You are all such a wonderful group of people and I am so thankful, I'm lacking words to truly express how much.
Today was a fun day. I had a scan at the hospital, bright and early this morning, but when I got home, I decided it should be a fun day. I had these roses from my brother, which had seen better days, so I removed them from the stems and put them in a huge bowl, then we had fun throwing them on each other outside on the grass. Larkyn kept saying, "Mama's funny!" It was very difficult choosing which photo to blip from our little session, but this one emulated her joy the best, I think.
After that, I took Larkyn to my parents' house, for her regular Thursday with them, and my husband and I went out to lunch together. That was nice to just be able to catch up on what had happened and talk about the future.
I still took a photo a day during my stay in the mountains, and have backblipped everything, starting with the 1st of August, if you have time to take a look. I used Blip as a way to journal my stay, even though I didn't have Internet, but I wrote what happened each day on the day it happened. That has already been helpful, as that week away already seems like a blur!
Again, thank you. Words cannot express how much your kindness has meant to me throughout all of this.
