Friday 10 August 2012: Reading in the Sunshine ...

Philip Jackson, our local sculptor at the studio on the A272 just outside Midhurst, has a courtyard with several of his works, most of which I've blipped before. This is 'Reading Chaucer', a gracious figure in bronze, with one of the large Sentinels in the background. Note Jackson's trademark gold, here seen in the pages of the book. The Reader stands almost 6 feet high, while the Sentinel towers above the roof at 143inches tall - I don't even stand as tall as the golden hands. Try it in large for impact.

You can see details of these Jackson works on my Blipfolio.
