On the edge

This was the first place I thought of when I saw that today's monomonday theme was Roots. This whole bank is eroding and exposing the roots of the trees which are all entwined with each other.

At the foot of this hill is Auld Temple Kirk which in previous forms dates back to the 1100s. I like to think this little rut that runs down the hill was the old road where horse and carts went up and down. I would even expect Gandalf riding on a cart with Frodo sitting on the back. 

That log there was the location for that famous Shortcuts' Karate Kid scene - wax oan, wax off, jeezus these midges are murdur. Aw, takes me back 5 years...
