Celebrate

At the fourteenth time asking Guiseley have finally got their first win of the season and doubled their points total in the process.

And what a way to do it.

York City were the visitors along with 800 of their fans and they took the lead after a few minutes. Guiseley soon equalised, the start of an astonishing spell where they knocked in four goals in twelve minutes, with debutants Jake Cassidy and Jermaine Hylton being particularly impressive.

Then the floodlights failed and it was the turn of both sets of fans to offer entertainment by chanting in the dark. The delay was was lengthy enough for us in the Guiseley camp to worry about the match being abandoned, while the York fans cheered every failed attempt to bring the lights back on.  It was nearly an hour before the match got back underway, and we still weren' t at half- time.

Guiseley added two more goals in the second half giving us an unlikely final score of 6-1. The York media were quick to declare it their worst defeat ever.

Todays image captures the Guiseley players celebrating their third or forth goal (I was losing count by then).
