tempus fugit

Regeneration

About 20 years ago I planted two acorns from Pengelli Forest, an ancient oak wood in the area. As saplings they languished in pots far too long until about 10 years ago they were finally planted out in our field. They have taken a while to get established but today I was thrilled to see that they have produced acorns of their own. I feel like a sort of arboreal grandmother. Or maybe that should be glandmother since the Greek word for acorn, glans, is of course the root of the word 'gland'.
