The Reservoirs Of England
We're off to Sheffield with S's stuff. The pile was quite stereotypical, two guitars, amp, games, computer and not much in the way of clothes.
We stopped off at Ladybower for a leg stretch not really knowing quite how much reservoirs were about to fill the next few days. We found our B&B then went in to Sheffield to drop off the bulk of the luggage. Mr Google had provided a map.
I've gone off Mr Google now. Yes, from a plan view it looked fine; on the ground it seemed to involve an excess of narrow backstreets and impossible junctions, all at 45' to the horizontal.
Tried to pick a better way back which was fine if you can speed-parse road signs of the style No Left Turn unless you're a tram or it's before 7 am or after 11 am but before 4pm unless after 8pm and you're a taxi but not a cyclist but maybe if your car is blue and it's between 4th May and 19th October and you want to go somewhere we've not signed and you're not towing a trailer or caravan or horse. PS it's a dead end to a closed Park & Ride anyway.
