White Horse

This is the ears of a white horse carved into the chalk escarpment south of Avebury. It's only about 200 years old, but still very impressive. The best view is from the air and as we were walking above it there was a constant stream of helicopters hovering around. I quite like this view looking down though. We passed several white horses on our walk but the only one that was really ancient, near Uffington, was the only one we couldn't see, without walking a long way out of our route and down a steep hill. We should have done it but it would have added a few miles and a steep climb back up, and we were too tired!
