Victoria Street, London

Had a carpenter around today to carry out some repairs to the hardwood frame of the conservatory. It's looking good and should be finished tomorrow. Not easy to find someone to do this job, but looks like we found a skilled person.

Had a quick trip out to Bethersden to ACE Sheds to get a quote for Susan's Garden Hobby Room to compare with the one we got last week. We'll await the quote then make a decision, then it will be all systems go to dismantle and remove the greenhouse ready for the Hobby Room to be erected.

Then it was up to London for me to help my brother mark his retirement from Hewlett Packard after over 30 years with the company. Caught the train to Victoria then walked from there to the pub which was near to the Barbican, almost 4 miles but worth doing to explore more of the city. This shot was taken along Victoria Street which links the station to Parliament Square and Westminster Abbey. An impressive view where the people are dwarfed by the buildings and appear ro be scurrying around like ants.

A good evening was had by all and I was able to get home for 11.00pm, but I didn't walk back to Victoria!
