Poppy at Kings Cross

Four years ago we discovered that Mr hazelh should avoid black-eyed peas. Not long afterwards it also became obvious that chickpeas also make him ill.

This morning my poor husband woke very early with violent stomach ache and spent the remainder of our time at Lucy's house within easy reach of the bathroom. We think that this is either because he accidentally consumed some chickpeas at lunchtime yesterday, or because he cannot tolerate monkey nuts, large quantities of which were eaten while we played Catan last night.

At one point we even considered changing our travel plans to return to Edinburgh this evening. This would have delayed Mr hazeh's return to Edinburgh until Monday or Tuesday (by which time we hope he will be better), and I would have travelled to my next work commitment in Guildford from London (rather than Edinburgh) on Tuesday.

However, Mr hazelh felt brave enough to face the train ride north this evening and I am pleased to report that he has survived to tell the tale (even though he went straight to bed as soon as we reached the flat). Oh, and we also had an interesting fellow passenger in our train carriage: Ian Botham.

I blipped this enormous poppy at Kings Cross station just before we boarded the train. I spent the entire four and a half hour journey on Blipfoto trying to make amends for my recent (and predicted continued) absence on everyone's journals.

Exercise today: none.
