Wednesday 15 August 2012: Chocolate
I don't eat very much chocolate, but thank goodness for the secret stash tonight. I spent nearly an hour just driving 8 miles in torrential rain this morning to see a friend. We met 9 years ago when our girls were in incubators next to each other in the special care baby unit. Even though they haven't seen each other for a while they've played so nicely together today, and we've spent 5 hours chatting. We were both grateful years ago that our girls were such tough feisty, little babes, now we're laughing and wandering if that tough start has turned them into stroppy little madams. Sometimes it's good to know you're not on your own, and we're doing what we think is right bringing them up, and hoping they turn out ok, and in front of someone else they're sweet little angels!
Late getting home, kids spent most of the evening arguing, until they got together to make milkshakes with raspberries, bananas and ice cream. I've decided the mess left in the kitchen was worth it for the peace and quiet, and I've turned to chocolate instead of tidying up, that can wait until tomorrow.
