Morning Constitutional

This little fellow (or gal) was strolling along "East Maryland Street" when I popped out to get the paper this morning. I heard a rustle and looked up. There were two little spotted fawns walking along. I ran back in and got my camera and took a few photos before he decided it was time to move on. You see all that chopped brush under him? That is what is left of a very thick blackberry patch that used to grow right down the middle of our "street." There isn't really a street there, just the right of way for one and the source of our address. Really our house is on an alley. But the city decided to put in water meters and so they had to find where ours should go. Only way to do that was to mow down the blackberry bushes. Arvin misses them. I don't really as there are plenty more still there. I was concerned about the deer as they live behind our neighbor's yard and walk along the back of ours to get wherever they want to go. Seems not to be a problem though as they are still there and seem to be doing just fine as this youngster can attest. So here he or she is, taking a walk along "East Maryland Street." Here is the large version.

Just googled to find out what kind of deer we have here. Based on location this is probably a Blacktail Deer.
