Looks Good To Me

Take to the Streets

Bellingham is home to the longest-running Weekly Peace Vigil in the US. Started by Howard and Rosemary Harris more than 48 years ago, it has seen more than 4 generations. It is held on the corner of Magnolia Street and Cornwall, in front of the Federal Building, every Friday starting at 4 pm and usually lasts until about 5 pm.

Cynthia and I decided to go to the Weekly Peace Vigil after our yoga class this afternoon, expecting to find people expressing their distaste for the president-elect. We were not disappointed, and met several friends and acquaintances among the crowd.

A small group started singing some of protest songs of the 60's -- including "We Shall Overcome" Of course we had to join them -- C and I met singing in the Seattle Welsh Choir twenty years ago.

In other news, the Chump has announced that he is considering putting a climate-change contrarian in charge of the Environmental Protection Agency -- until he can eliminate it!

It's going to be a very long four years.

P.S. As always, Cynthia has written more eloquently about this event in her blip
