Vertical Puddles

Rowing in a row

Saturday morning saw some of my colleagues (a number of whom had previously been in the Forces) doing a sponsored row of the Suez Canal to raise money for post-combat stress disorder therapy.

Except they weren't in the sunny Middle East.  They were on rowing machines outside the University Sports Centre in driving rain doing the equivalent distance.  The area was nominally covered but the wind was certainly blowing the wetness in.  The rowers seemed glad of the cooling but it meant that not many people hung around to support them.

Much is made of the weatherproofing of Pentax cameras and my trusty K-3 certainly came into its own, performing much better than I did - I only lasted half an hour.  The full row took three and a half.
