Saturday 18 August 2012: Library Day
The others were off to the AFL (a freezing, miserable game) but the sun shone at Woden Plaza. Me and Im hanging out at the mall - haircuts, shopping for birthday presents, naughty lunch, and a couple of unhurried hours at the library.
My favourite place as a child, and the library we had was nothing compared to the glories of the ACT Library Service. Friday afternoons I would buy a 20c bag of mixed lollies after school, smuggle them into the library, and snuggle up to some books. In those days, you could only borrow 4 books at a time. I overheard the limit in the ACT is 200.
Remmber the cards in the back of the books that showed you who else had borrowed them, and when they had last had an outing?
We had loads of books to pick up for L today (reading challenge, Seuss & Dahl), and then we got so many for ourselves I could barely carry them all home.
