Aashayein (Hopes)

A philanthropic organization, The Aashayein (hopes) foundation organized an event in a local orphanage today for the kids. It was drawing/painting competition, light cultural events with kids singing/dancing/reciting followed by a christmas party for them. A group of youngsters from the IT companies in the city run the organization. One of my friends from work is a member of the foundation and she invited me over to take some pictures of the event and the kids. So I was there with farsidehues and one more photographer friend from work. Though it was really nice to see the kids having fun and making merry, the heart saddened at the thought of these young kids being deprived off parents' love and care. So glad there are some good folks out there taking care of them.

Oh yeah, we were asked to judge the drawing competition and we gladly obliged. There were some really very creative drawings. we also gave away some of the certificates. A cute little girl gave me a red rose :-)
