after a brutal, though much-needed, thunderstorm, Kathryn's outdoor movie birthday gathering was underway. O'Brien bought this giant inflatable screen to go with some giant outdoor speakers; hook up a projector and wham-o: instant outdoor movie theater experience. except with lots of beer. and a t-rex head carved from a watermelon. and mosquitoes...lots and lots of mosquitoes. anyhow, in a few months there is going to be a bike-in Bill Murray double feature. looking forward to that.

didn't stay too long tonight on account of a long day running errands and heading to doctor's offices. tomorrow I wrap up making this syllabus and start some reading for next week. back to school back to school. I have always hated this time, for as long as I can remember. then again, what kid doesn't, eh?
