I love this city.

It is the prevailing attitude amoungst most Canadians that Toronto is a cold and unfriendly city. Or at least, it is a popular attitude. But I don't know why. I have found this city to be very warm and friendly.

For example, almost every time I am out and about I will run into someone I know. Today it happened again. I was walking along the major road in my neighbourhood and someone called out to me. A couple I have gotten to know recently saw me and called. It was fun to chat with them for a few minutes. Then a few minutes later as I was continuing along my way I ran into a neighbour walking with her two kids and their new dog. And so another fun chat ensued. Then I popped into a local cafe to buy some espresso beans for my coffee maker at home and the guy behind the counter asked if I'd like a free Americano - he had just made it by mistake. I love Americano, so I said yes!

And simply because it's a lovely day here today I took myself for a walk along the boardwalk for a little fresh air.

I love this city!
