Surfing, Westport Beach

6.4C with sunny sunshine all day long. E/ESE/SE zephyr.

This morning Apothecary7 was painting. A new painting. Large.

After lunch Apothecary7 and I took Maeve the Deerhound to Westport and we had a long walk along the beach. The burns which run across the sand were all either dried up again or easily crossable on the beach so we went right along to Machrihanish Dunes golf course before turning to come back. There were one or two other people walking along with their dogs. There seemed to be less snow on the Papas of Jura and the air didn't appear to be quite as clear today. We could still see all the way to the Antrim coast and could clearly see details on Islay and Jura. The waves were fantastic today. Not huge or particularly dramatic but lovely big long breakers rising up and showing pale green against the sun before breaking quickly in bursts of white and running into shore.

On the way back to the car we saw a lone surfer.
