Sunday 19 August 2012: Ode to Joy
Last night neighbours (Arden Street?) had a very noisy party. I am glad my room is at the front.
This morning I got up very late and then I went to Sandi Toksvig which was an absolute joy. Ok the end bit was a plug for her new book (book signings in the Courtyard) and she got a standing ovation by having us all on our feet at the conducting Beethoven's 9th but she was side splittingly funny and moving when she talked about her friend John McCarthy and the Anglo Boer War. I didn't buy a book though.
The show lasted over an hour so no houses today. She's been the funniest show I've seen so far this Fringe.
