Sunday 19 August 2012: Working hard

I had to work today. This isn't the hardship that it sounds as I've got a cool boss who asked me to drive her to Edinburgh to do a trunk show that she'd been asked to do by top knitting designer Ysolda Teague. The event was part of the US Vogue knitting tour, so contained diehard yarnaholics. Lilith, my boss at Old Maiden Aunt, takes the idea of trunk shows seriously and actually has trunks as well as vintage suitcases for transporting her hand dyed yarn. It makes for a lovely easy setup and looks great. Ysolda did a really good talk on how she got into knitting and then become a designer. It was really funny and interesting and is a great example of just do what you want to do and it should all work out. After the talk the ladies immediately swarmed all over the yarn and some obviously got bought, which was nice.
It was lovely being in Edinburgh again, even for a brief spell, but I'm looking forward to a relaxing evening at home.
