Old gig tickets

So, it was 34 years ago today that I saw Orange Juice at the Lyceum Ballroom. That was in the days of great gigs there, before it turned into the permanent London home of the Lion King. Standing downstairs, sticky carpets and all, but the place had a real ambiance to it, still oozing significance going back to the Bob Marley concert there. The supporting guests were Strawberry Switchblade and, bless 'em, The Farmers Boys, direct from Norfolk. OJ were loud, probably the loudest band I ever saw, but very compelling. The Boys were fun but not yet the finished article, and the Strawberries were silly and crazy. A good, good night.
