Our Gracie
This life-sized statue of Dame Gracie Fields was unveiled by Roy Hudd outside the rather magnificent Rochdale Town Hall in September.
I think it is a lovely statue and captures her absolutely 'spot-on'.
She was the world’s highest-paid female actor in the 1930s and I used to listen to her singing such classics as 'The Biggest Aspidestra in the World' . I'm so pleased she has now got her own statue in her home town :-)
