Tuesday 21 August 2012: Celeb!
Out after work to meet Stevie T to see Chris Mullin at the Book Festival. Instead of giving us humorous anecdotes and a bit of spice, Chris treated us (he did explain in advance) to a lecture on why politics matters. I've got to say he fell some way short. Sure it does, he's got an open goal there in front of him and yet I felt he didn't really get close to nailing why so many people think it doesn't. And the second half of his talk was entirely about global warming.
A better example of the disconnect between public and politicians he probably couldn't have chosen, but I'm not sure that was his intention.
And Johnny N was there too - so off we went to the Oxford. And who came in but a celeb! Well, OK, it was Phil Jupitas.
