Masterpiece

We spent the morning and early afternoon at The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Fenway Court, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It was the Members Holiday Morning with a harpist in the courtyard and special exhibits. One was an imagined holiday table, set for Isabella and her friends like the painter, John Singer Sargent, as guests. It was just perfectly lovely, with a rather low attendance (good for us) due to the first snow of the season. We took in the new exhibit, Beyond Words, of incredible Italian Renaissance books from Isabella's own collection. She collected rare books before art. We had lunch in the cafe and did some Christmas shopping too in the lovely little gift shop. The museum is one on my favorite places in the world. It was an excellent day with a stop on the way home at the Dedham L. L. Bean store.

For the Record,
This day came in with the first plowable snow of the season. It turned to rain by noon, but looked so seasonal. The driving was dicey, but we made it to Boston for our museum morning.

All hands improving.

Framed...We're reflected in an empty frame at the Museum, one of the pieces tragically  stolen in the greatest art heist of all time.
